The Driver will operate a small cube truck or other ancillary equipment on assigned route to service customers by safely delivering and removing residential roll-out carts to old and new customers within productivity guidelines established by management. Key Responsibilities include driving a pickup truck with trailer or ancillary equipment along designated routes to deliver, swap, or retrieve carts; delivering carts to residential locations at curbside or back door; inspecting carts and evaluating customer sites to ensure locations are safe for proper servicing per Company standards and service agreements; performing daily pre- and post- trip inspections and submitting vehicle condition reports; loading and unloading carts manually or by using a forklift; interacting courteously with customers and the public; cleaning loose trash off truck and ground; maintaining and submitting logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report; maneuvering truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces; using key map and GPS to locate service addresses; following safe operating practices including lock out/tag out procedures; adhering to all Safety and Company regulations and standards; and performing other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED desired, ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), satisfactory driving record, ability to meet safety sensitive function criteria, and ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include knowledge of truck components and maintenance, ability to control equipment operations, ability to recognize unacceptable waste, effective communication skills, ability to read and comprehend documents and maps, ability to follow instructions, flexibility to adapt to change, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, coordination, and adherence to safety policies. Physical and mental demands include ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell; visual requirements; ability to occasionally lift 50 or more pounds; sitting required 75% of the time; ability to work in loud conditions. Working conditions include exposure to loud noise, humidity, weather extremes, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, outdoor work up to 100% of the time, working away from branch location, occasional work in high places, motor vehicle traffic conditions, and usually loud environment.
