Job Description NBC News Digital is seeking a Senior Technology Reporter to focus on the industry’s leading companies, CEOs, products and their impact on society. This role involves reporting on power and influence, uncovering new information about how tech leaders and platforms shape society, politics, policy, and the economy. The candidate will cover major stories such as Sam Altman’s decision-making at OpenAI, Mark Zuckerberg’s policy changes at Meta, and Elon Musk’s ventures including Tesla and DOGE. The ideal candidate will have experience with deep sourcing, enterprise reporting, scoops, and exclusives, and be eager to activate on breaking news with analysis and context. They should be an engaging writer with a broad, well-informed source base and the ability to produce insightful, useful journalism that stands out. The role involves working closely with teams across Digital, NBC News' business and economy unit, and the Washington DC Bureau. The reporter will contribute to NBCNews.com, lead a weekly newsletter, and may appear on air. This position can be based in San Francisco, Washington DC, or New York, and is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
